How this section is put together
The polos come in plain knits, printed patterns and striped versions at almost the same price. Print holds sweat marks less obviously than a flat colour, which matters more on a July round than any fabric claim on the label.
For the tees, check the UPF number. Roughly a third of the tops here are rated UPF 50+, and on those the sleeve length is a sun decision, not a temperature one.
Polos for the course
Dry fit knits with a two or three button placket, most under $20.
Layers for cold rounds
Quarter zips and fleece-lined crews for the first and last month of the season.
Washing and wear
Skip the fabric softener
It coats the fibre that moves sweat, and a polo that stops wicking is just a warm shirt. Detergent alone is enough.
